Nemo studied film and learned photography in Japan, where she worked as an editor at an ad agency and later in a photographic studio. After moving to the UK, she started taking photographs along with her journalistic work.
In 2013 she joined the book project “Street Food – Urban foraging and world food” as a photographer. In this book, expert urban food forager and writer Ceri Buckmaster shines a spotlight on wild food as ‘the new street food’ in a collection of recipes inspired by the wild plants that grow in urban areas, as well as by the people and the diverse food traditions of London.
Exploring colourful food culture and working with this book was very exciting, and soon photography itself became her main interest.
The image on display is from the more personal series WWHN, which she is currently working on.
Nemo also provides fine art portrait sessions and photographic services for businesses and families. More details can be found on her website: nemoroberts.com
